I spend quite a bit of my spare time browsing online stores for unusual and quirky gifts or items for my home. There are a few sites that I regularly return to for ideas, but they tend to seriously bump up the price of everything they sell. With a bit of a search in google, I can often find the original designers’ stores, or another shop selling the items at a much lower price. Call me a cheap-skate if you will, but I generally don’t like to pay above the odds, and if there is a voucher code all the better!
The other day I saw some fabulous cards on of my usual rounds, and after a little search I came across a really lovely site offering stationary and gift cards at a fraction of the cost. I’m a sucker for a nicely designed card, but sadly don’t often get given them – My little trick at Christmas is to buy a festive card (that I love) for Alex and then we can both share the joy!
The Magic Notebook is a lovely site, which isn’t the smoothest to navigate, but has some extremely pretty little items including diaries, notebooks, pens, tape, stickers and deco tape. Some of their cards can be assembled into mobiles and lanterns and others simply pop out to create a Christmas ‘wintery wonderland’. The designs are inspired by fairy tales and children’s literary classics and are created by Korean stationer Indigo Story. They are magically enchanting and would make a perfect Christmas stocking fillers for children or lovers of pretty little things (like myself).
I purchased a lovely pop up card for Alex (me) and a beautiful lantern for my nieces. They arrived in such wonderful wrapping and came in no time at all…
I’m hoping the children will know how to assemble this because, quite frankly, I’m baffled!
Do you love receiving cards? Have you got a regular stationary shop that you just love?
