During this cold weather, I seem to have increased my tea intake tenfold. I drink all types of tea, but one brand that took me some time to get round to was Teapigs. This is mainly because it’s one of the pricier teas on the supermarket shelves and as lovely as it looks, I wanted to find cheaper alternatives, before making more of a dent in my budget.
Last week I was offered a 20% discount code, so finally dug deep and ordered a batch of tea from the Teapigs website. When doing a bit of research about the company, I was pretty surprised to find out that the Teapigs concept was actually thought up and financed by Tetleys! Clever idea, but I’m a bit miffed that I was fooled into thinking it was one couple’s monumental success story.
“Nick and Louise started Teapigs in November 2006. They met whilst working for a really big tea company, where they learned all about tea and drank lots of it”.
Could that ‘really big tea company’ have been Tetleys? I think it might just have been! I’m a bit (very) slow off the mark with this one (like two years), but hey, you learn something new every day!
Anyway, I’m testing it out and bought this little lot to keep me going through the cold winter days…
(Never one to waste a discount code!)
More to come about this Teapigs Organic Matcha soon – I’m testing it out for a few weeks, so will let you know if it does what it says on the tin!
I tried the creme caramel tea at the Westow pub a while back and loved it. Perfect tea for after dinner, if you are trying to avoid eating dessert. I take mine in this teacup… How quaint.
The 20% discount code I used was from Hello Fresh and is valid for this month – HEFR13
EDIT: I”m getting a lot of hits into my site for a Teapigs voucher code and this is an old post – I have however searched out a new one for you to use in December 2013 – Use promo I LOVE TEA
