I have decided to do a five day juice cleanse this week and to make it easier, I’ve opted to go down the simple route and have ordered my juices from Soulmatefood. I know, I know… I’m being pretty lazy, but when I totted up the cost of all the fruit and veg I’d need in my online grocery cart, it really didn’t cost much more because they are currently offering over 60% off on their blog.
I have actually been juicing daily for quite some time now, but I really wanted to do another cleanse and I’ve been dying to try out the delivery option as I hate washing the juicer more than once a day! Soulfoodmate usually charge £200 for a cleanse, which offers six juices a day over five days – The current voucher code takes it down to a much more affordable £75. The juices are delivered to your door on a Monday morning and the rest is up to you.
Today is day one, and I have to say it hasn’t really started that well. The juices were meant to be delivered between midnight and 9am for a fresh start this week, but I received an email explaining that my delivery would be delayed until 10am. I then received a voicemail stating I’d my juices by 12pm. Nothing you can do about London traffic I guess, but I didn’t expect that to be such a problem with overnight deliveries. My instructions were to leave the juices hidden in my recycle box, but as I wandered down to the door at 12.30pm I found my box sitting right outside the door (I live on a very busy main road) and picked up the box a little bit miffed, only for all the juices to fall out of the bottom of the broken box! At least the juices were in a big bag and I wasn’t left chasing them down the path… hmm.
I was a little disappointed with the leaflet that came with my package – Just one sheet with the juices and a few do’s and don’ts explained. If I had paid the full £200, I’d have expected a little booklet about the benefits of juicing or something just a little more to show for the money spent. I’m also a little concerned that the juices are very fruit heavy, with only one containing carrots and superfoods. I do, however, like the fact that there are six juices and not just three, like the Jason Vale juice detox I did. I am meant to be sipping all day alongside water, but I think I’ll be using a straw or my teeth will be screaming out at me in pain.
Anyway, I have all my juices and I’m ready to go. Albeit halfway through the day. I’ll let you know how I get on. Chinchin!
Oh, by the way… I know I gave up blogging, but I’ve decided I’m just going to post when and if I want to. I had it in my mind that I was meant to do things a certain way and started to feel the pressure. From now on I’ll just do it my way ;)
