I have just spent a ridiculously long time trying to plan five days worth of meals for £5 – It wasn’t easy folks! I’ve signed up to take part in the Live Below the Line Challenge on April 29th, and I think I may have finally succeeded in bringing together a reasonable menu from which I’ll be living on £1 a day for food and drink. Food AND drink people, food and drink! I love food (and I especially love drink), and I have to say £5 really doesn’t get you much of what you fancy!
Live Below The Line is a fundraising campaign that’s fighting against extreme poverty so by taking part in this challenge I hope to raise awareness as well as funds to support those in need. There are over 1.4 billion people living in extreme poverty worldwide, and I’m more than willing to give five days of my time (and money I save on shopping) to support the cause. Will I grumble and moan? Yes, probably… BUT it will all be worth it in the end!
The problem I had creating my menu was that I really shouldn’t be eating wheat or potato products due to my allergies. You all know I dabble a bit, but me being me, thought I’d try and do this without either. I’m also doing it alone which means there’s no buying bulk or sharing the costs on any products. I must say I’m pretty pleased with the results; however, I haven’t tasted the dishes yet so you’ll just have to stick with me to see what the outcome is.
If you’d like to sponsor me, or to read more about Live Below the Line, then head to my page HERE. Every penny counts and if you yourself are living on low funds then I’d be more than happy with just a couple of words of support to get me through!
