Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been using foundation that I’ve bought from either Superdrug or Boots with L’oreal and Maybelline being my firm favourites. I’d never seriously thought about venturing into the land of the cosmetic counters in department stores, simply because I was happy enough with my lot. A great ocean of different products can be downright baffling to a novice with extremely little high street shopping patience!

The other day I decided it was time for a change. I like a bit of luxury with everything else in life, so why not treat my face to something special. Of course, I had to ask Twitter what the best foundation product on the market is and this lead to even more confusion. However, I eventually managed to whittle it down to a few and here is the one I opted for in the end…

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation£26.50

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

At three times the price of my usual foundation, this stuff needed to be good… Luckily, after the first application, I was hooked. I have pretty balanced skin type (when my allergies don’t hit me hard) and find this foundation goes on like a dream. It also stays put for absolutely ages, which is perfect for my late nights at work. I can see it might be a bit cakey on really dry skin, but I’m pretty happy with the results and will no doubt continue to use this for some time.

I took a bit of a risk ordering online without sampling the best colour fit for me, but I really wanted to purchase it from Estee Lauder’s own site, as there is currently and excellent offer on – As well as getting free concealer and lip gloss duo with any foundation purchase, they are also offering two free (fab sized) samples when you spend over £30.

The samples I chose were – Double Wear Volume Mascara and Time zone Night cream
Both Lovely products!

Whilst I was experiencing my new face revolution, I decided it was time for me to invest a bit more time in my brows –  This little extra that I ordered  has been a Godsend…

Automatic Brow Duo – With refill  £16.50

Estee Lauder Brow Pencil

So, I ended up with all of this for a total of £43.50. Not bad for the quality and lasting power, but my bank balance didn’t need yet another product that puts a good dent in it!

Can we really put a price on our beauty happiness?!
