I’ve been a bit uninspired to blog recently. It turns out life isn’t as fun when you are trying to get fit, and you don’t get paid quickly for all the hard work you do. I was in a foul … Continue reading

I’m going slightly mad here. It’s hard enough being picky, but being picky on a tight budget is never an easy feat. I have spent hours trawling the net looking for the right sink, the sleekest taps, the perfect TV … Continue reading
Apparently it’s a bit nippy out there today. I personally wouldn’t know as I’m trapped in my bedroom surrounded by practically all of our belongings, while AG Flooring work their noisy magic.
This is the time of the year when I really start to dread working on the till at the warehouse parties I do PR for. An average of two thousand people pass me by and head into the warmth of the tunnels and I’m left shivering it out until 4am with the team. I’m well-known for taking my little heater and thermos of tea along with me to work, but even those don’t really cut it by about 2am. It’s at about that time that I can no longer feel my fingers and toes and I start to become a little less cheerful. Annoyingly, that is also the time that the clubbers become a little more vocal and things get a little more taxing.
When I leave the club I instantly hit defrost in the car, but I don’t actually thaw out until I make it to my bed with yet more tea. It’s true, the older you get the more you feel the cold and this old bird doesn’t like it one bit!
This season a few jumpers have caught my eye in the shops, so I’m adding them to my ever-growing A/W wish list. Below are a few of my favourites. If I layer up enough and invest in a more powerful heater I might, just might, make it through the season.
I love all three of these jumpers by The Rock Boutique and actually just bought the grey one from Asos the other week.
It’s a fab fit and feels really soft. It will no doubt get worn to death…
The trouble now is that I really want them all! £45
If you’re a cat person (like me) then this is the jumper to get.
There are some pretty awful animal prints out there at the moment, but this one isn’t too offensive.
Asos Dolly cat Jumper – £40
Now this jumper doesn’t look too hot on the Topshop website, but in the store I really loved it.
This is NOT the jumper for me though - It looked great on the hanger but awful on.
Maybe one of you will have more luck with it!
Topshop Spot Jaquard Jumper – £40
This cute little jumper hasn’t gone too over the top with it’s spots.
I’m not sure the peter pan collar will work for me, but I’ll certainly give it a go.
Pins and Needles Spot Collar Top – Urban Outfitters – £40
Not really a jumper, but this looks pretty warm and cosy to me.
I bet it will come down to my knees though!
Asos Blanket Wrap Cardigan – £45
Have you seen any great jumpers for A/W? If so, do share!
I haven’t worn a pair of trousers out for about 6 years. Seriously, it’s been that long! I’ve definitely mentioned quite a few times before that shopping as a vertically challenged person is not at all easy. I simply lost the will to live when it came to trouser shopping and it’s not just being short that was the hindrance… I’m happy to take a trip to the tailor so he can hack off a foot of material from the bottom of most things, but like a lot of people I don’t have a perfectly shaped body. In the past, if trousers fitted in the waist then they didn’t fit in the leg and if they did fit in the leg, then they were too tight on the rear – You get the jist. When I get fed up with something, I really get fed up with it, so I totally gave up on trousers for a very long time.
I’m not sure what happened this weekend, but I suddenly got the urge to give them another chance. I’ve managed to get by wearing dresses and skirts for an age now and have always been quite happy, but something was niggling at me, so I started an online browse. After hours of trying to find a pair that didn’t have a peg leg (for my lacking-in-definition ankles), I purchased one pair of trousers. One pair – The one and only chance I was giving trousers again!
To my absolute amazement, this pair of Vero Moda Very Printed Trousers fit perfectly. I’m still in total and utter shock. I don’t even have to take them for a trip to the tailor, they were in the sale AND I’ve even got a top and jacket sitting in my draw that completes the look. Did I mention I am in total and utter shock!?
My only dilemma today is whether I should stop with the trouser shopping right now and just bask in the glory of a fabulous piece of luck, or whether I should continue to look for a few more pairs to fill my A|W wardrobe…
Have you had the same problems as me when it comes to trouser shopping? If so feel free to share your tips and tricks.
Vero Moda Very Printed Trousers:
Purchased at Asos for £44 – I thank thee!
They look much better in real life than on the Asos model…
I’ve never been much of a shoe person. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved putting on a nice pair of heels, but I’ve never really taken the time to stock up and search for shoes that I didn’t really need. However, over the past few months I seem to have developed an odd lusting for shoes. Particularly of the heeled variety. This is no good. No good at all… My bank balance simply won’t allow it!
Ignoring the two pairs of shoes I bought the other week for a wedding (yes, I needed two just in case), I’ve had to stop myself from going totally shoe mad. I try really hard not to look online, but when that email from Kurt Geiger pops into my inbox on a regular basis, I find it simply too rude to ignore. Drastic action must be taken, so I have decided it’s time to hit ‘unsubscribe’ for a while. Before I do I just had to take one more look so I could share a few of the wonderful shoes around at the moment with you.
You may notice that the shoes I have selected are mostly suede (not the best for a night in the pub unless sprayed to death with protector), but the stores have them in all different materials. Happy shopping!
1: KG – Kurt Geiger – Eleanor - £130 ( I love these the most but can only sale buy at that price)
2: Nine West – Kaboose Court – £75 (In the sale so grab them quick – Very comfortable but also very high!)
3: Office – Minted court – £65
4: Aldo – Nasrin – £70
5: L.K Bennett – Sliver Sandal - A whopping £195 *dreams*
6: Schuh – Polly toe cap court - £70
