Alex has told me that I shouldn’t really be posting because I’m currently waiting for my blog to transfer over to a new design, and for some other mundane reasons that I didn’t pay attention to! He said it would take five days, but it already seems an age, so I thought I’d just pretend that I didn’t hear him and sneak in a cheeky post before the transfer happens.
Anyway, I’ve been testing out the BioEffect EGF Anti-Ageing Serum (which came in my Selfridges beauty box), for about 10 days now and I thought it deserved a quick review. I’ll try anything to make my skin look healthier and more youthful – I don’t smoke, but I am wheat intolerant and also have an allergy to potatoes (can you believe it!) – Both of which affect my skin because I fail miserably at staying away from them.
BioEffect Serum isn’t just any old serum. It has been developed and researched over ten years and is now used by 20% of Icelandic women. They are obviously a lot richer than me because there is quite a hefty price tag of £49 for 5ml (or 15ml for £125). I guess it’s a small price to pay if you find it delivers on the promise of ‘dramatically improving your skin tone and reducing lines, blemishes and dark circles under the eyes.’
The tiny 5ml bottle that I received is just about empty, but has lasted well as I found that I only needed two drops to cover my face and neck each night. It’s best used before bed because it has quite a sticky texture – I like to leave these things to work their magic overnight anyway, as it’s always good to roll out of bed with the best looking skin possible.
So, did it work? Well, I asked Alex if my skin looked any better and he said ‘um, yes. Maybe’ – Bah! What do men know eh?! I personally think that my skin appears to have more of a glow in the mornings and after about five days I noticed that the laughter lines around my mouth has reduced quite significantly. I find it hard to comment on the lines around my eyes… Some days I’m just do damned tired to tell, but the lines around my mouth have always been my main concern, so I’m happy with that improvement.
I don’t think I’d be able to justify using this serum on a regular basis just yet, but think that when I hit my late thirties/ early forties then I might look into using it a bit more. That’s if no other magic serum has been invented by then!
Another option is to buy the BioEffect 30 day treatment, which works at triple the intensity of regular BIOEffect Serum – Now this sounds very tempting indeed, but comes in at a whopping £210.
Better get saving those pennies – All in the name of beauty!
BioEffect EGF Serum is available to buy from Boots stores, various other stores and online. Easy.
