As I write this I’m still feeling a little worse for wear after a glorious weekend of wedding bliss. Our lovely friends Paul and Joanna finally tied the knot after seven (or so) years of being together. It was a fabulous day with lots of laughter and wonderful company.
I spent most of Friday stressing about the wedding cake that I was asked to make. On top of the traditional fruit cake I also baked about five batches of cupcakes before finally selecting the best ones to drive up to Hertford on Saturday. I don’t normally have any problems baking cupcakes but the pressure of it all seemed to turn me into a total nervous wreck. I’m sure that me being a bit of a perfectionist had a big part to play in my near breakdown… No more wedding cakes for me – I’d rather leave it to the professionals, that’s for sure!
I shall blog the fruit cake recipe soon, but for now why don’t you take a look at a few of the wedding pictures whilst I carry on with my recovery.

The bridesmaids- They’d been after that flower from the second they saw the cake.

And finally… The shenanigans!
